Southeast Association of Rail Shippers
The Southeast Association of Rail Shippers serves a diverse membership in the states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia. Members represent such areas as heavy and light industry, mining, consumer products, forest products, agriculture, port operations, and service organizations.
Meetings are held twice a year in the spring and fall at various locations in the assigned territory. Topics of discussion are selected by members and cover a cross-section of interests. Meetings are well attended by members and various levels of rail management of both major and short line railroads.
2018 Person of the Year Award: Lynn Courtwright
Served as the Business Director for the Southeast Association of Rail Shippers (S.E.A.R.S.) from 2005 – 2013. Prior to that Lynn served several years as a volunteer for S.E.A.R.S. arranging the spouse’s social outings.
Prior to her position with S.E.A.R.S Lynn was employed by Nation Retail Services (N.R.S.) for seven years as the Territory Area Manager. In that capacity, she was responsible for ensuring that current merchandise media was installed, and product inventory levels were adequate at retail stores throughout North Georgia.
Lynn and her husband Glen have been married 43 years, have three children, three grandchildren, and reside in Roswell, Georgia.
