Michael Obertop is currently serving as the National Sales Solutions Director at VLS Environmental Solutions, where he focuses on delivering innovative and sustainable solutions across the rail industry.

With over 20 years of experience in the railcar industry, Michael has built a reputation for strategic thinking, operational insight, and customer-focused service. He previously represented Carboline in the Southeast and Midwest territories, supporting clients with high-performance coatings and linings. His career includes leadership roles at Cathcart Rail, CaD Railways, and GBW Railcar Services, a joint venture between The Greenbrier Companies and Watco, where he spent a decade driving growth and operational excellence.

Michael holds a JD and MBA from the University of Missouri, Columbia, and a BA from Southwest Baptist University.
